Nairobi County Gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has surprised many after switching running-mates barely one month after unveiling one.
NAIROBI GOSSIP has learnt that the former Gatanga MP has settled on former AFC Leopards player and football pundit, Dr Dan Shikanda as his new running mate ahead of the August, 8 polls.
As reported by NAIROBI GOSSIP earlier, Peter Kenneth had unveiled former civic leader Linnet Mihereni as his running mate in the 2017 General Election.
However, in a surprising turn of events, PK unceremoniously dumped Mihereni for Shikanda whom he unveiled on Wednesday, May 31 2017 at the PK Hub in Westlands, Nairobi.
Shikanda’s ‘appointment’ however did not come as a surprise to thousands of PK’s supporters.
Kenneth has in the past been seen with Shikanda as they traversed Nairobi County in a bid to solidify his numbers ahead of the August 8 polls.
Shikanda is a former footballer who once tried his hand in politics but failed miserably.
PK’s new running mate has also made several appearance for the national soccer team Harambee Stars.
Peter Kenneth will be vying for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate after he was floored by Senator Mike Sonko in the Jubilee Party nominations.
